Alignment
(Pro/AutoPro)
A misaligned drive will produce disks that are perfectly readable by it,
but not on a properly aligned drive. Misaligned drives are
one of the major causes of poor copy quality, which is why we recommend
checking a drive's alignment frequently.
A drive may be misaligned for a number of reasons. Misalignment may simply
be due to mechanical wear and normal use. Severely misaligned drives are
usually the result of improper handling, abuse or shoddy drive construction.
